[Simple Gift Option] How to set up the app

Thank you for installing the SAKU Simple Gift Option app!

Here's how to add the app to your theme.

1️⃣ Install the app and register products for gift options

After installing the app, you will be taken to the app's home screen. Let's set it up according to the "Setup Guide" described there.

First, create a product for gift options.

Options need to be added as products, so let's start by adding option products.

On the home screen, click the "Create product in product management" button to the right of "1. Create product for gift options."

This will take you to the "Add product" screen, where you will add a new product.

There are four required fields to register when adding a product:

• Media: If you want to display a sample thumbnail image when setting gift options, add it here. If a thumbnail is not needed, you don't have to include it. Only the first image will be displayed as a thumbnail.
• Inventory: Turn off the inventory tracking toggle to disable inventory tracking.
• Shipping: Turn off the "Requires shipping" toggle.
• Status: If this is "Active (public)," it will appear on the product list page, so set it to "Draft."

Please note that the product name and price are set on the app settings page. Entering them here will not reflect them as the option price! (We recommend using a clear name like "Wrapping" or "Gift" for the product name for management purposes.)

Once you're done, click "Save."

2️⃣Add the app → Simple Gift Option Settings

Return to the app's home screen and check "✅️Manual: Check to complete" to mark step 1 as done.

Next, click "Open gift option settings" to the right of "2. Configure gift option details."

Select the option product you created earlier and enter the "Option display name" and "Option price" to be displayed on the product details page.

As mentioned before, the product title and price entered when creating the option product will not be reflected; the values you enter here will be the option name and price.

Also, if you want to display an image for the gift option, click "✅️Show thumbnail" to the right of the selected gift option product. You can choose the thumbnail size from small, medium, or large.
*The first image registered in the product image will be used.
*Even if you change the image on the product side after selecting a gift option product here, the gift option image will not change. In that case, delete the gift option product once and reconfigure it, and the changed image on the product side will be applied.

Next, enter the additional information for the option.
There are two types of additional information that can be obtained for options:

• Dropdown: Used when you want to allow selection of wrapping paper color or ribbon color. Multiple choices can be set by separating them with a comma (,).
• Text: Used for entering gift messages. You can set a maximum character limit.

You can set multiple additional information fields. Items set in multiple fields can be rearranged by drag and drop.

Finally, set the application unit.

This can be:

・Set gift options per product: Allows setting gift options on the product page, and for each individual product. Use this if you want customers to be able to select gift options for product A, and for product B, etc., for each individual product.

・Set for the entire order: Select gift options on the cart page. This applies to the entire order, rather than a gift option for a single product.

*For now, let's select "Set gift options per product" and proceed.

Once the settings are complete, confirm with a preview, then change the status to "Active" on the right and save.

Next, click the "Add block to product page" button to go to the product page.

When you go to the product page, the "SAKU Gift (product page)" app block will be automatically added. (If it is not added automatically, select the app from "Add block" and add "SAKU Gift (product page)").

Move the "SAKU Gift (product page)" app block to your desired location and click Save. We recommend placing it above the "Add to cart" button.

This completes the basic setup of the gift option app.

*If you want to display the gift option app for some products but not others, you can do so by separating product templates.
